The Carousel at Preston Court

A licensed ceremony location with a difference.

The Ultimate Fairground Wedding Venue in Kent. You can get married on our carousel. Yes, you really can!

While many venues may offer props, Preston Court is home to a fully operational, authentic Victorian Carousel that is licensed for wedding ceremonies.

This makes us the ultimate destination for a fairground wedding venue in Kent, offering a “bonkers” and brilliant twist on the traditional civil ceremony.

For the ceremony itself, we remove a carriage to create a dedicated space, allowing you to nestle between the galloping horses to exchange your vows. It is a moment of pure whimsy that your guests will never forget.

A Masterpiece of Victorian Engineering

This is not a modern replica; it is a piece of living history. Originally known as a "galloper," this vintage carousel was crafted in the 1880s by the renowned British makers Allchin & Linnell.

Originally powered by steam, she features 36 individually named and carved horses, decorative scenery, and a tasteful, pale colour palette that complements any wedding style. Whether you want a festival-style wedding or a vintage theme, she provides a spectacular, theatrical backdrop.

Golden Hour Magic

As the sun goes down, the Carousel truly comes alive. She is adorned with well over a thousand twinkly ‘cabochon’ lights, emitting a warm, amber glow that looks incredible against a twilight sky.

It is the perfect setting for your evening reception—you and your guests can even ride the horses after the ceremony! It offers endlessly photogenic moments, particularly during “Golden Hour” when the sun sets behind the fairground, creating a silhouette that is pure magic.
