Juliana’s Island at Preston Court

Think Bridgerton meets Vogue.

The Ultimate Outdoor Wedding Venue in Kent

Imagine marrying on an island in the middle of a lake surrounded by your closest family and friends, against a backdrop of tumbling roses, ‘Bridgerton-esque’ gardens and birdsong.

Juliana’s Island offers one of the most romantic settings for an outdoor wedding venue in Kent, providing a stage for your vows that feels like a scene from a period drama.

Standing beneath a Regency-era pagoda to exchange your rings, with your wider party of guests seated just across the water on the lawns, watching the ceremony unfold. It is an experience of pure theatre—don’t be surprised if the horses in the fields behind start cantering along as your reception music starts!

A Romantic Location Steeped in History

This location is as historic as it is beautiful. The island is named after Juliana de Leyburne, the "Infanta of Kent," who lived at Preston Court in the 12th century when the original manor house stood on this site.

If you look carefully into the water, you can still see the remains of the small flint wall which formed part of her medieval home. Prior to Juliana, there was a Monastery here at Preston Court. These lakes were originally created as the monks’ “stew ponds,” supplying the fresh fish which they traditionally ate on Fridays.

Today, this rich heritage provides a stunning, narrative-filled backdrop for your waterside wedding ceremony.
