Can we get married here? (Qualifying Connections)
One of the most common questions we get is from couples who live outside the parish but fall in love with St Mildred’s. The good news is that you do not necessarily need to live here to marry here.
Because St Mildred’s is a Parish Church, you just need to demonstrate a “Qualifying Connection”. This can be through family links (such as parents living here), or—most commonly for our couples—you can establish a connection by attending services.
By attending church services at St Mildred’s at least once a month for six consecutive months, you can legally create a qualifying connection. This is a wonderful way to get to know the church family before your big day.
Capacity & Contacts
The church can hold around 120 people, matching the capacity of the Kentish Barn perfectly.
We work closely with Reverend Caroline Turvey, who would love to meet anyone considering a church wedding here. We recommend getting in touch early to discuss dates and the legal requirements.
