A beautiful victorian ride

The Victorian carousel ride (also known as a ‘Galloper Set’) is one Preston Court’s many unique features as a wedding and events venue, and probably it’s most prominent.

This beautiful, full size fairground ride is a venerable machine built back in the 1880’s. Featuring a wooden fairground organ at it’s centre, the machine is mostly wooden, with impressive horses and 2 dragon chariots to whisk you around.

Always a very popular and fantastic addition to a reception and party.

This inviting space features a large wood burning stove and sofas make it very comfortable. At one end is the licenced bar, stocking largers, beers and ciders from local brewer Shepherd Neame, as well as quality wines, spirits and liqueurs, etc.

Adding the full length terrace, this barn has plenty enough room for a party of up to a hundred people (standing), making it a great space for smaller parties and other events.

Preston Court’s very own take on a guest book and video Dairy. This is a so much more than just photo booth.

The ever so talented Louis hosts small groups of guests at a time in the Granary which sits opposite the Kentish Barn and alongside the Long Barn, in the main barnyard which is the focal point of the evening celebrations.

We have designed and made our own dreamy, mediterranean outdoor dining area in the middle of the barnyard. This will be the most atmospheric and intimate place to eat and enjoy an informal meal, sat beneath hundreds of warm glowing lights.

The 17th century Kent Barn can be used for civil marriages, the renewal of vows, naming ceremonies and civil partnerships on every day of the week.

This simple but enchanting building is also a great space for dinners and dances, as well as corporate conferences and meetings.

This is a picture perfect island situated in the lake directly front of the house. Wedding blessings and other ceremonies will take place in a pagoda, cradled by an ancient yew tree and weeping Birch. There are serene views across the garden and lakes.

Leading to the island there is a wonderful decorative iron bridge, complimenting this idyllic setting, and perfect for memorable photographs.

Strutting his stuff

Steve is our resident party peacock. He struts his stuff around and likes to check himself out if he has the chance in the reflection in something shiny. Don't worry though he is very discreet most of the time. Steve has his own locally brewed lager you can try from the bar.

Why not have a country church wedding?

It is now possible to marry in a church where you are not a member of the Parish.

St Mildred’s Church enjoys a very quiet, secluded location adjoining the garden and farmyard at Preston Court. This gorgeous 12th century rural church has pre-Saxon origins, with a very pretty churchyard surrounded by ancient yew trees and with views across open countryside.

Sleep under the stars in one of our beautiful bell tents. Fully decked out with proper beds with bedside tables, luxury duvets and cotton sheets. Take a hot shower and then make a cup of tea in the Wendy House kitchen.’

he 1920’s Showmans Living Van is available for the bride and groom as a sanctuary and changing place. This an important part of The Steam Museum and this special wagon was built for Oscar Deutsch, the founder of the Odeon Cinema Group which we all know today.

Sitting in the barnyard opposite the Kent Barn, this lovely period living van is some 28 Feet long, painted and decorated on the outside and with beautiful wood pannelling on the inside.
